I Was Once the Pet Parent Standing Outside the Clinic, Feeling Lost Too
More than ten years ago, I was caring for my young Sheltie, Smart.
Like many pet parents, I simply wanted to give him the very best.
It was only when he was diagnosed with kidney disease that I truly understood the uncertainty many families face.
Online diet information was overwhelming, veterinary consultation time was limited, and after returning home, I kept asking myself:
“Apart from medication and veterinary treatment, what else can I do? Is this food helping him, or adding more burden to his body?”
Those difficult days, and later the loss of Smart, became the starting point that changed how I understood nutrition.
I came to realise thatdiet is not just something we provide twice a day. It can be the first line of everyday support, a way to help the body stay more resilient, and one of the most direct forms of care we can give our pets.
Since then, I have studied canine and feline nutrition and food therapy in a more structured way, helping pet parents turn complex nutrition knowledge into practical feeding plans they can apply at home.
Over the years, I have supported families facing kidney disease, pancreatitis, digestive sensitivities, appetite issues, and other diet-related concerns.
These experiences continue to shape the way I work: with science, practicality, and compassion.

Smart, the Sheltie on the lower left, was later diagnosed with chronic kidney disease.

Ah Mi’s Story Made Me Believe in the Power of Diet Support
I will never forget the first chronic disease case that truly drew me into nutrition assessment: Ah Mi, a 13-year-old Pomeranian with pancreatitis and heart disease.
At the time, Ah Mi was lethargic, her coat was dry, and her body weight had dropped to only 3.7 kg. Her long-term watery stools left her owner feeling helpless and anxious. With such a complex combination of conditions, blindly adding supplements would only create more burden. So, based on her blood test results and actual digestive capacity, I designed a personalised fresh food plan that took both her heart and pancreatic needs into account.
What was encouraging was that, in less than two months, Ah Mi’s weight steadily increased to 4.2 kg, her coat became darker and shinier again, and her energy level improved noticeably. Seeing her become lively again gave her owner a long-awaited sense of hope and reassurance.
This is the true meaning of pet nutrition —allowing the right food to become a gentle form of support for life.
